Operation Plans (OP) and Line Director
In HNPSP, there are 38 program areas under the sub-sectors( Health, Nutrition and Family Planning) as well as central activities under the direct supervision of the MOHFW. Based on these, one Operation Plan(OP) is prepared for each program area. A Line Director is designated for each HNPSP program area. He/She is the main implementing agency or spending unit who implements the program with policy and administrative guidance from the MOHFW. The LDs are selected in such a way that they have necessary managerial skills in addition to their technical knowledge. The LD is responsible for all actions included in the respective OP and is supported by (a) Program Manager/s and (b) Deputy Program Manager/s as needed. Of the 38 LDs, 19 are in DGHS, 9 in DGFP, 7 in MOHFW, 1 each in Nursing Directorate, Drug Administration and Central Medical Stores and Depot.
In addition to the 38 program areas, 10 projects are also being implemented, each headed by a Project Director.
