 Why
NCD InfoBase?
 NCDs are assuming alarming
proportions and becoming the leading causes of
mortality, morbidity and disability in the
Region.
There
is need to deploy a data management tool for
sharing epidemiological information on major NCDs and their risk
factors.
NCD
InfoBase will make existing information easily
accessible at one place and promote its
utilization for advocacy, programme development and
research.
Information provided by
InfoBase
NCD
InfoBase will provide Risk Factor Data at country
level, stratified by age and sex. The major risk
factors included in
InfoBase are: tobacco
use, alcohol consumption, low fruit and vegetable
intake, physical inactivity, obesity, raised blood
pressure, raised cholesterol and glucose.
Data
on prevalence of diabetes mellitus.
Additional
modules are being developed.
Complete
source and survey information is put together for
each study.
