Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Inaugurated tele-medicine service of MIS

The Digital Innovation Fair 2011, scheduled for 6-8 July 2011 at the Bangabandhu Navotheater-Dhaka was a national show-case of Digital Bangladesh progress since 2009. The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare had a large and nicely decorated stall in the fair. The Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina visited the stall and inaugurated the tele-medicine Service of MIS, DGHS.

Workshop for District Health Managers on Health Information System

The MIS of DGHS frequently organizes training workshops for improving health information system. Visit to MIS project by ITU Secretary General

Dr Hamdoun I Toure, the Secretary General of International Tele-communication Union (ITU), an UN organization visited Savar Upazila Hospital in 2010 to witness ICT based community health programs of MIS, DGHS.

Publication ceremony of Health Bulletin & Year Book 2009 of MIS

The MIS, DGHS publishes Annual Health Bulletin annually. Until 2009, it also published Year Book. Director of MIS in Pacific Health Summit 2012 held in London

The eHealth programs of MIS, DGHS have drawn international attention. To listen the success stories, the Director of MIS, DGHS was invited to Pacific Health Summit, London 12-14 June, 2012 to as one of the panelists.

Annual MIS Conference 2012

The MIS, DGHS is trying to improve the local health information culture in each organization under the DGHS of Bangladesh. To facilitate this process, Annual MIS Conference was held from 17-22 June 2012 in Dhaka. The conference was attended by over 1500 participants from divisional, district & upazila level health managers, officers and statistical staffs.

During her visit to Digital Innovation Fair 2011, the Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina came to visit Ministry of Health Stall. MIS programs helped country receive United Nations Award 2011

The United Nations provided "Digital Health for Digital Development Award 2011 to Bangladesh in its 66th General Assembly. Hon'ble Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received this award on 19 September 2011 in New York. The award came in recognition to the success of eHealth programs of MIS, DGHS particularly to contribute achievement of MDG 4 & 5. The photograph shows Hon'ble Minister for Health & Family Welfare being accorded with flowers in the Dhaka airport on his return to home from New York.

Officials from 5th BCS Health Cadre to 15th BCS Health Cadre working in different health organization under Directorate General of Health Services who have not recieved senior pay scale (18,500/- 29,700/-) yet, are notified to submit applications for upgrading salary to ACR department of DGHS, 6th floor, Room no: 604 with upgraded ACR. Officers mentioned in the attached notice are transferred from their current posts and has been published in the workplaces mentioned by their names in the given notice until further order from DGHS. According to the guidance of Director of DGHS, 4 Surveillance Team have been sent to Barishal Division under leadership of Additional Director (Admin).
